In effects you are able to change the icons,and change the proporties of them also,with wisual effects.And you can set the size of them to be large for those who have trouble seeing.

You can set the desktop to be viewed as a web page also.

This is the color and size settings of the monitor,you have from 256 colors to 32 millon colors. and the screen size depends on your monitor,some of the older montiors will not gave any better then 640X480 pixels,other monitors will support sizes up to 1600X1200 pixels. Some monitors let you change the size in other ways too,like the screen can be set at 600X800 and the and the actual picture can be set at 1600x1200,and the screen is controlled by the mouse.Think of it this way, you have a wall covered with a picture,but you have also a picture frame.And the only way to see the picture on the wall is through the picture frame.little by little.

Whitin the advanced you can set the size of the fonts,and an option to show the settings on the taskbar too.And you have the option to apply color changes with out restarting.But as it sayes some programs don't work right unless you restart.

This is the video adapter"the video card".you can change the card here if need be, and also adjust the refresh rate of the monitor here.

NOTE; be carefull if you wish to play with the refresh RATE,many monitors have been throwen in the trash bescause of improper refresh rates.HINT DON'T MESS WITH THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. OPTIMAL IS THE BEST SETTINGS!!!

The monitor is importain to get proper display,you can change the monitor here,or through the add new hardware.

This is for the video accellerator,and will control it most times just fine. sometimes you may need to turn it down ,but that depends on you video card.

Its is best to have a color profile here,but not all of the older monitors have them or not avaible anymore,but they help windows to manage the color schemes in programs and such.
