Windows will let you setup diffrent user profiles,on the same computer. What it does is creates a unique desktop and startmenu along with your favorites and many other things.This is very usefull if there are more then one person who uses the same computer.By means of this utility you can have your favorite program short cuts showing on your desktop and your children could be setup to use their own desktop.Each desktop is password protected,but not inaccessable,what I mean is that most files can be seen useing the windows explorer.

As you see here you start out by typing in the new users name.

And then the password,which has to be typed twice,to confirm it.

Here you can decide what will be shown on your new desktop.You can chose between a complete copy of the orignal,or make it unique to yourself.With just what you wish to show in the startmenu and on the desktop.Your My Documents folder is also completely seperate from the orignal folder,and later in the series I'll show you how to password protect this folder too.

After you are finished with all this you must restart the computer,and at that time you can log in to your personal desktop.
