Here you see the background settings,windows offers many backgrounds for you to use, you can also browse and pick your own background.

NOTE;windows will only accept bitmap images "bmp" as background images,but try other formats some others may work.I have never really cared for what is on the face of my computer, so never tryed any other format.

You can chose a pattern for images you use as wallpaper.Basicly what this means, imagen you have a picture,placed on a wall,and the whole wall is covered with a pattern. The just the outside of the pattern is seen.you take the piture away and the pattern will be your wallpaper.

The screen saver is simple to understand,you have the choice of 27 screen savers in windows95/95. And you have the choice of how long befor they start.If you hit the settings tab you can change the screen svaers proporties,the color and speed at which they play.

NOTE; beware of the screen savers you may find online,I have had to fix complete systems for people because of the screen savers they have downloaded and installed.

As I stated you can change the proporties of the screen savers.Or run them at smaller sizes.

This is the same as the power management I covered befor.but these settings directly affect how the power is controled on your computer.You can set the harddrives to power down,and the monitor can be set to shut off.

NOTE;With the newer monitors,you really do not need to worry about them as you had to with the older ones. The older monitors were not really set up to do the graphics,and they were suspect to burning of the screen, thats where the screen savers came in.on the older monitors,if you was to leave something in one spot for an overly long time it would burn an image there.

You can have the icon placed on the taskbar,for the power management. And also the setting here,the power button,is for when you shut down the computer. So when you hti the shutdown button on the startmenu,you can have it shutdown or standby.

The appearance is how things are seen,the top line on the folders"windows default is blue" to the background color inside the folders"windows default is white.You will notice the Item, you change the item to whatever and then change the proporties for that item.I myself use a plain black background with default color scheme on the folder headers and background.
